  • Phrase:Returns all topics that contain the exact phrase in the search criteria. Use quotation marks around the phrase.
    Ex."system administration"
  • And:Returns all topics that contain all the words in the search criteria, in any combination. Insert a plus sign between all words in the search criteria.
    Ex.system + administration
  • Or:Returns all topics with any combination of words in the search criteria. This is the default.

Contents of the View Alternate Parts Screen

Use the fields and options to configure the View Alternate Parts screen.

Select

Field Description
Manufacturer

Select this option to view alternate part information from the manufacturer catalog.

Vendor

Select this option to view alternate part information from the vendor catalog.

Both Manufacturer and Vendor

Select this option to view alternate part information from both manufacturer and vendor catalogs.

Selection Criteria

Field Description
Manufacturer

Enter, or click to select, a manufacturer ID from the catalog. This field is unavailable if you selected the Vendor option in the Select group box.

Manufacturer Part

Enter, or click to select, an alternate part for the manufacturer. This field is unavailable if you selected the Vendor option in the Select group box.

Rev

Enter, or click to select, the manufacturer part revision for the manufacturer alternate part. This field is unavailable if you selected the Vendor option in the Select group box.

Vendor

Enter, or use to select, a vendor ID from the catalog.

The vendor must not be flagged as a payroll vendor, and its Vendor Status for PO must not be On Hold. If the vendor has an Approval Codeof Not Approved or Pending, Costpoint displays a warning.

This field is unavailable if you selected the Manufacturer option in the Select group box.

Vendor Part

Enter, or click to select, an alternate part for the vendor. This field is unavailable if you selected the Manufacturer option in the Select group box.

Rev

Enter, or click to select, the vendor part revision for the vendor part. This field is unavailable if you selected the Manufacturer option in the Select group box.

Table Window

Field Description
Part

This field displays the part ID that your company has assigned to the part.

Part Rev

This field displays the revision for the part.

Description

This field displays the description for the part.

Part Security

This field is visible only if the Use Part Data Security Controls check box is selected on the Configure Product Definition Settings screen, which indicates that the part is subject to data security restrictions, as defined in the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) or the Export Administration Regulations (EAR).

If enabled, this field displays one of the following values to indicate whether the part you are accessing is subject to part data security restrictions and whether you have the necessary authorization to access information for that part:

  • Unrestricted: The item is not subject to data security restrictions.
  • Restricted: The item is subject to data security restrictions and that you are authorized to access detailed part information.
  • ***UNAUTHORIZED***: The item is subject to data security restrictions and you are not authorized to access or view part information. This value is displayed in red background color.
Note: The features in this release relating to Part Data Security are intended to assist your company in achieving ITAR compliance. However, it is each company’s responsibility to confirm that it is meeting its obligations with respect to ITAR or other applicable requirements. Deltek does not warrant that use of this functionality will result in compliance.
U/M

This field displays the unit of measure of the part.

Make/Buy

This field displays whether the part is a M (Make) part that you manufacture or a  B (Buy) part that you buy from an external vendor.

Manufacturer

This field displays the manufacturer ID of this alternate part. This field is hidden if you selected Vendor in the Select group box.

Manufacturer Name

This field displays the manufacturer name. This field is hidden if you selected Vendor in the Select group box.

CAGE

This field displays manufacturer's CAGE ID code for this part. This field is hidden if you selected Vendor in the Select group box.

Manufacturer Part

This field displays the manufacturer part ID of this alternate part. This field is hidden if you selected Vendor in the Select group box.

Mfg Rev

This field displays the manufacturer's revision of this part. This field is hidden if you selected Vendor in the Select group box.

Preference Type

This field displays the part preference type for this alternate part.

Preferred

This field displays Y (Yes) to indicate that this alternate part is the preferred alternate part.

Vendor

This field displays the vendor ID for this part. This field is hidden if you selected Manufacturer in the Select group box.

Vendor Name

This field displays the vendor name. This field is hidden if you selected Manufacturer in the Select group box.

Vendor Part

This field displays the vendor part ID for this alternate part. This field is hidden if you selected Manufacturer in the Select group box.

Vend Rev

This field displays the vendor's revision of this alternate part. This field is hidden if you selected Manufacturer in the Select group box.

Vendor Approval Status

This field displays the vendor's Approval Code that was set on the Approve Vendors screen. This is A if the vendor is approved, N if the vendor is not approved, or P if the vendor's approval status is pending. This field is hidden if you selected Manufacturer in the Select group box.

Company

This column displays your company ID based on the search criteria and the setting of the Separate Items by Company check box on the Configure Product Definition Settings screen.
