Auto-Assign Lead/Contact IDs

You have the option to have Costpoint automatically assign the lead/contact ID every time you create a new lead/contact record. You set this up on the Configure Contract Management Settings screen.

Note that if you do not select the auto-assign option on this screen and also do not indicate a lead/contact ID in Manage Leads and Contacts, Costpoint throws an error message and you will not be able to save the record.

If you wish to not use the auto-assign function, make sure to enter a lead/contact ID in Manage Leads and Contacts for new records.

To assign lead/contact IDs:

  1. Click CRM & Contracts > Contract Management Controls > Contract Management Controls > Configure Contract Management Settings.
  2. Click the Corporate Settings subtask link.
  3. In the Leads / Contacts group box, complete these fields:
    Field Description
    Auto-Assign Lead/Contact IDs This check box is selected by default. Keep it selected to have Costpoint automatically assign an ID to any new lead/contact records.
    Last Lead/Contact ID Enter the last lead/contact ID used. This field defines the starting point for Costpoint-generated lead/contact IDs.
