Additional Opportunities Subtask

Use this subtask to associate additional opportunities to the contract.

You specify the primary opportunity in the Main Opportunity ID field in the Identification group box of the Manage Contracts screen. You can then use this subtask to link the contract to more opportunities that may or may not exist in your Costpoint database.

Contract records linked to opportunities display on the Contracts subtask of the Manage Opportunities screen.

Click New to add a new line.

Field Description
Costpoint Opportunity Select the option to indicate if the opportunity is a Costpoint opportunity or not. Valid values are Y and N.
Opportunity ID

Enter, or click to select, the opportunity ID that you want to link to the contract.

If Costpoint Opportunity is Y, after you enter or select a Costpoint opportunity ID, Costpoint automatically populates the other fields with values for that opportunity. You will not be able to modify the values automatically loaded in those fields.

If Costpoint Opportunity is N, manually enter an opportunity ID in this field and in all the other fields on this subtask. Note that even if lookup is enabled in this field, the lookup displays no records if Costpoint Opportunity is N.

For both Costpoint and non-Costpoint opportunities, once you save the record, the opportunity ID displays as a hyperlink that you can click to open the Manage Opportunities screen. For a Costpoint opportunity, the screen opens with existing values for that opportunity. For a non-Costpoint opportunity, the screen displays a blank record that you can fill in with details for that opportunity.

Opportunity Name

For a Costpoint opportunity, this defaults from the name of the opportunity as entered in Manage Opportunities.

For a non-Costpoint opportunity, enter the opportunity name. Note that even if lookup is enabled in this field, the lookup displays no records if Costpoint Opportunity is N.

Master Contract No

For a Costpoint opportunity, this defaults from the Master Contract No associated with the opportunity in Manage Opportunities.

For a non-Costpoint opportunity, enter, or click to select, the master contract number associated with the opportunity.

Our Value

For a Costpoint opportunity, this defaults from the Our Value amount of the opportunity as entered in Manage Opportunities.

For a non-Costpoint opportunity, enter the total expected contract value if the opportunity is won.

Primary Customer

For a Costpoint opportunity, this defaults from the Primary Customer associated with the opportunity in Manage Opportunities.

For a non-Costpoint opportunity, enter, or click to select, the primary customer associated with the opportunity. Both customers and prospective customers are allowed in this field.

Type This field displays whether the primary customer linked to the opportunity is a Customer or Prospective customer.
Date Opened

For a Costpoint opportunity, this defaults from the Date Opened value for the opportunity as entered in Manage Opportunities.

For a non-Costpoint opportunity, enter, or click to select, the date on which the company identified and started pursuing the opportunity.

Date Closed

For a Costpoint opportunity, this defaults from the Date Closed value for the opportunity as entered in Manage Opportunities.

For a non-Costpoint opportunity, enter, or click to select, the date on which the opportunity was closed.

Opportunity Status

For a Costpoint opportunity, this defaults from the Record Status value for the opportunity as entered in Manage Opportunities.

For a non-Costpoint opportunity, select the option to indicate the opportunity status. Valid values are Active and Inactive.
