Contents of the Manage Tax File Data Screen

Use the fields and options to configure the Manage Tax File Data screen.

Identification

Field Description
Taxable Entity Code

Enter, or click to select, the taxable entity ID for which the MMREF record is being created. Taxable entity IDs and information are entered on the Configure Company Information screen.

Preparer Code

From the drop-down list, select one of five options to indicate how this MMREF record was created. Valid options are:

  • Self-Prepared
  • Accounting Firm
  • Service Bureau
  • Parent Company
  • Other
Kind of Employer

From the drop-down list, select the option which best describes the type of employer you are. Valid options are:

  • Federal Government
  • State and Local Governmental Employer
  • Tax Exempt Employer
  • State and Local Tax Exempt Employer
  • None Apply
Note: This field does not apply to Puerto Rico employers.

Contact Information

Use this group box to enter contact information that is used by the Social Security Administration and/or other organizations that may have questions or processing problems.

Field Description
Contact Name

Enter the name of the person or organization that can be contacted regarding this record.

Job Title

Enter the job title of the contact person for this record.

Phone Number

Enter the phone number of the contact person or organization.

Extension

Enter the phone extension number of the contact person or organization.

Fax

Enter the fax number of the contact person or organization.

E-mail

Enter the email of the contact person or organization.

Idaho

Field Description
Fed/State Combined 1099 Participant

Select this check box if the taxable entity is a federal/state combined 1099 participant for Idaho.

Filing Cycle

Use the drop-down list to select a filing cycle for the federal/state combined 1099.
