Set up required classification codes on the Manage Classification Codes screen.

Classification codes are user-designated property classes, such as automobiles, computers, equipment, and so on., that are assigned to each asset record. The Classification Code field is a system-required validated entry on the Manage Asset Master Information screen (or the Manage Asset Description Information screen) and the Manage Asset Template Information screen. Classification Code is also validated on the Manage Autocreation Transactions screen, although it is not required to save changes to records on that screen. However, a valid Classification Code must exist on an autocreation record before that record can be processed into a Fixed Asset.

The only data from which to choose for entry in the Asset Master and the Asset Template Classification Code fields are validated classification codes from the Manage Classification Codes screen.
