To take advantage of the new user interface in Cognos 11, the location of the commonly used functions in Cognos 10 were changed for easier navigation.

Cognos Connection Welcome portal.
Cognos Viewer There is no name for the viewer. Based on the item you are viewing, the functionality of the viewer differs.
Launch > Cognos Workspace On the Welcome portal, click or tap New , and then Other . Click or tap Workspace.
Launch > Cognos Workspace Advanced When you create or edit a report, the Workspace Advanced functionality is incorporated in Reporting.
Launch > Query Studio On the Welcome portal, click or tap New , and then Other. Click or tap Query Studio.
Launch > Analysis Studio On the Welcome portal, click or tap New , and then Other . Click or tap Analysis Studio.
Launch > Report Studio This is now called Reporting.

To create a new report, go to the Welcome portal and click or tap New. Click or tap Report.

To edit an existing report, click or tap More or ellipsis (...) adjacent to the report, and select Edit report. The report opens in Reporting.

Launch > Event Studio On the Welcome portal, click or tap New , and then Other . Click or tap Event Studio.
Launch > Cognos Administration On the Welcome portal, go to Manage > Administration console... .
My Area Options > My Inbox You will save notifications if you select Save to the system for subscriptions and report output versions. On the Welcome portal, go to Notifications. And then, open the notice and tap a link to the report version.

Another way is to click or tap your <username> > My schedules and subscriptions.

My Area Options > My Watch Items Click or tap your <username> > My Watch Items.
My Area Options My Preferences Click or tap your <username> > My preferences.
Not available in Cognos BI 10 Data Module. You can create data modules in Data modeling. On the Welcome portal, click or tap the New , and then click or tap Data modules.
