Use the fields and options to configure the Manage Salary Cap Code screen.

Manage Salary Cap Code

Field Description
Salary Cap Code

Enter the salary cap code. This field accepts up to 15 alphanumeric characters.

Description

Enter a description of the salary cap code.

Show in Lookup

This check box is selected by default. Keep it selected if you want this salary cap code to be available for selection/entry in the Salary Cap Code field on the Basic Info tab of Manage Project User Flow.

6 Day Pay Options

Field Description
Allow 6 Day Pay

If you select this check box, employees who charge against the project with a salary cap (including lower project levels) and also have a pay type that allows 6-day pay will be eligible to receive an extra day of pay that is not subject to the salary cap.

Reimburse 6 Day Pay up to Salary Cap

This check box is enabled only when you select the Allow 6 Day Pay check box. Select this check box to limit employees' reimbursement of the 6th day of pay to the salary cap amount for that day. If you do not select this check box, the 6th day of pay will be reimbursed based on the employee's salary or hourly amount.

Number of Hours in Year for Salary Cap Calculation

Enter the number of work hours in a year for the salary cap calculation. This field defaults to 2,080.00, but you can edit it. This number cannot be zero or negative.

Table Window

Use this table window to specify the effectivity dates and salary cap for this code. You can enter multiple lines with different effectivity dates and/or salary caps in this table window. You must ensure, however, that the effectivity dates have no gaps and do not overlap. It is not necessary that you enter the fiscal or calendar year of your company since the salary caps are based on the contract year.

Effective Start Date

Enter, or click to select, the effective start date for this salary cap code/line.

Effective End Date

Enter, or click to select, the effective end date for this salary cap code/line.

Salary Cap

Enter the annual salary cap amount for this code/line. Ideally, this should be the salary cap amount specified by the issuing agency (for example, USAID and NIH) with which you have a contract.
