Link to Accounts Subtask

Use this subtask of the Manage Financial Statements screen to assign accounts to each line of a balance sheet, income statement, or statement of comprehensive income.

Costpoint uses the balances for the accounts linked to a financial statement line to determine the amounts to display on the financial statement on that line. (For the two primary financial statements, you can also assign financial statement lines to accounts on the Manage Accounts screen.)

Use this subtask whenever you add new financial statement lines or you need to change the accounts linked to a specific financial statement line.

Link to Accounts

Field Description
Account Number, Name

This table window lists the accounts linked to the selected financial statement line. To deselect an account, highlight the row you want to remove and click the Delete button on the table window toolbar.

Note: When you add new income statement accounts on the Manage Accounts screen, you must also use this Link To Accounts subtask to link the new income statement accounts to the primary balance sheet financial statement line for current year profit/loss that you designated on the Configure General Ledger Settings screen. This ensures an accurate balance sheet. You should also link the new income statement accounts to the financial statement line for current year profit/loss of any additional balance sheets you have set up.
