EBOM ORIG ASSY

Use this subtask to view and update the engineering bills of material (EBOM) assemblies that use the original part. If there are EBOMs that use this component in Costpoint Bills of Material, the screen will load the existing assembly parts. This subtask is enabled if the Action Code of the selected line in the main screen is Replace, New Revision, Obsolete, or Change and an Original Part is loaded. However, this subtask will be disabled if the Action Code is Add or New Revision and you have not selected the Allow Multiple Revisions for Each Item check box on the Configure Product Definition Settings screen in Costpoint Product Definition.

Component

This field displays the original part ID from the main screen.

Rev

This field displays the revision code associated with original part ID from the main screen.

Description

This field displays the part description.

Part Security

This field is visible only if the Use Part Data Security Controls check box is selected on the Configure Product Definition Settings screen, which indicates that the replacement part is subject to data security restrictions, as defined in the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) or the Export Administration Regulations (EAR).

If enabled, this field displays one of the following values to indicate whether the component part is subject to part data security restrictions and whether you have the necessary authorization to access information for that part:

The features in this release relating to Part Data Security are intended to assist your company in achieving ITAR compliance. However, it is each company’s responsibility to confirm that it is meeting its obligations with respect to ITAR or other applicable requirements. Deltek does not warrant that use of this functionality will result in compliance.

Part Status

This field displays the status of the part from the Original Part Status field in the main screen, or the Manage Parts screen (if the part is a standard part) or the Manage Provisional Parts screen (if the part is a provisional part) in Costpoint Product Definition.

UM

This field displays the default inventory unit of measure code for the part from the Manage Parts screen.

Part Lookup Type

Use this drop-down list to select the type for the part that you want use on Lookups in the Assembly Part or Assembly Rev fields. Valid options are:

Autoload

Click this button to load the component information into the table window.

Table Window

If the Replace in All BOMs column is selected or the Action Code is Replace for the selected line on the main screen, all EBOM assemblies in which the Original Part/Rev is listed as a component part will load in the table window with an Obsolete action code. If the Action Code is Change for the selected line in the main screen, all EBOM assemblies in which the Original Part/Rev is listed as a component part will load in the table window with a blank Action Code.

Action Code

From the drop-down list, select an action that this ECN will perform. Valid options are:

This field defaults with the action code value described in the Table Window section above.

Line

Enter up to four digits the of line number that identifies the specific EBOM component line in this required field

Find No

Enter up to four alphanumeric characters in this optional field for the drawing find number used for this EBOM component line. Upon populating the Line field for a new line, this field will default with zeroes, but can be modified. For example, if you enter 3 in the Line field, the Find field will default to 0003.

Assembly Part

Enter, click to select, the assembly part ID that used the component displayed on the header.

Assembly Rev

Enter, click to select, the assembly part revision associated with the assembly part.

Assembly Description

This field displays the description of the assembly part.

Component Type

From the drop-down list, select the component type code. Valid options are:

If this is a new line, the default is the component's part type from the Manage Parts screen.

Quantity Type

From the drop-down list, select the quantity type code. Valid options are:

If you have selected the As Required check box on the Manage Parts screen for the component part, or the Component Type is Reference, the default for this field is As Required. If the Component Type is Tool, the default for this field is Per Order. Otherwise, the default is Per Assembly.

Quantity

Enter up to 14 digits in this required field, including four digits after the decimal point, for the quantity of the component part required in the EBOM. If the Quantity Type is As Required, the default is zero. Otherwise, the default is 1.

Make/Buy

From the drop-down list, select whether the component is manufactured or purchased. Valid options are:

The default is the component part's make/buy designation from the Manage Parts screen.

Configuration

Enter, or click to select, the ID of the configuration in which this component will be used when planning this EBOM. This field must contain a valid BOM configuration ID from the Manage Configuration Identifiers screen in Costpoint Bills of Material. This field is hidden if you did not select the Use Configuration IDs check box on the Configure Bills of Material Settings screen in Costpoint Bills of Material.

Configuration Description

This field displays the configuration description. This field is hidden if you did not select the Use Configuration IDs check box on the Configure Bills of Material Settings screen of Costpoint Bills of Material screen.

Effective Starting Date

Enter, or click to select, the date on which this component will become effective in this EBOM. The default is the EBOM component's Effective Starting Date, otherwise the Suggested Effective Date on the Details tab displays.

Effective Ending Date

Enter, or click to select, the date on which this component will cease being effective in this EBOM. Depending on the Action Code on the main screen, this field defaults with the Suggested Effective Date from the Details tab (if not null), the Effective Date (from the selected line on the main screen), or the current date (if the Suggested Effective Date and Effective Date are null).

Component Released

Select this check box to release this component in this EBOM. The setting of this check box is determined by the option selected in the EBOM Release Control - Default Component Release Status in Bill group box on the Configure Bills of Material Settings screen.

In an EBOM, provisional component parts can be released, and therefore the EBOM status can be released. However, you cannot release provisional component parts in an ECN. You must convert the provisional part to a standard part on the Convert Provisional Parts to Standard Parts screen in Product Definition (and release it in the EBOM or ECN); otherwise, the EBOM can be Unreleased only if provisional parts exist.

Reference Designators

If you did not select the Use Extended Length Reference Designators check box on the Configure Bills of Material Settings screen, enter up to 254 alphanumeric characters of reference designator text for this component on this assembly. However, if you selected the Use Extended Length Reference Designators check box, you can enter up to 32,000 alphanumeric characters in this field. This field displays any reference designator text that was assigned for the component part line in the Component Reference Designators subtask of the Manage Engineering Bills of Material or Release Engineering Bills of Material screen.

Component Comments

Enter up to 254 alphanumeric characters in this optional field for comments that apply to this EBOM component. This field displays any comments already entered for the EBOM component.

Assembly Provisional Part Type

If the assembly part is a provisional part, this field displays the provisional part type that is assigned to the provisional part ID. You can modify this field only on the Manage Provisional Parts screen. If the assembly part is a standard part, this field is blank.
